Ok, I read all the reviews and decided to give these a try. I got the 3 pack. I have 3 dogs, and we hike daily, often getting wet from sudden showers or because I let them go for a dunk in streams, deep puddles, lakes, etc. And then my house smells of wet dog for days! One of my dogs also has skin problems, not bad but enough that she often has a musky odor to her, which permeates the entire house. So when they arrived, I placed one in the livingroom, one in my bedroom, and one in the family room, which is always the worst smelling room because all of their beds are in that room. After 3 days, to my dismay, every morning I’d wake up, walk into the family room and the funky smell would hit me smack in the nose. And I thought, these things don’t work worth a darn! I unplugged the one in my bedroom, to pack up to return… and thought “wait a minute… that family room is big, 13X11 feet big! So, I placed the one I had just removed on the opposite side of the family room from the one that was already working in there. BINGO! Within hours the family room smelled NORMAL! WITHOUT washing dog beds for the umpteenth time, without shampooing carpets again, and without bathing the dogs! That was a week ago. I have not had a single dog odor in the entire house since then. Seems the smells were all coming from that family room! So yes, these things do work, and they work well. But if you’re using them in a large room, you’ll need more than one in there to do the job! I read reviews where people were returning them because the directions say to not leave them on if you’re leaving the house for long periods. I honestly don’t think they mean overnight, or longs days at work! They’re talking about going away for a few weeks or months. The exposed tiny filaments that actually do the ion charging can build up with dust, which in turn can cause a flash which can cause a fire. So of COURSE you’re remove them if you leaving for a long period, you DO have to clean them off monthly, or as often as you see a dust build up on them. Mine have been in use for about 2 weeks now, maybe a little longer, and there is still no build up on the little “fingers”, so unless you have a very dusty home, I don’t think it will become a problem. Just do regular checks on them to make sure everything is clean. And enjoy your clean smelling home!

The pice is great, my allergies are much better. The only complaint I have is how hard it is to plug something else in at the same time in the same outlet.

I saw a few reviews from people who seemed confused, who insisted these do nothing. I thought I’d buy them and see what was up.Firstly, I’m in the medical field. I knew of ion generation as a antiseptic technique. It has been used to take out tuberculosis, salmonella, and others. Here are the highlights in FAQ:1. Do they produce ozone?a. Technically, yes. When you create negative ions, you also create a electrostatic field. When this field discharges, it creates ozone. Have you ever lifted a wool blanket and watched the static shocks? Do you remember the smell? That is ozone. These produce less ozone than your wool blanket.2. Do they disinfect?a. A little. Negative ions are wrestlers. They can pin down particles and vapors that might carry airborne disease. They don’t KILL the germs, at least, not as well as ozone. But the certainly can keep them out of the air.3. Do they work? How do you know?a. I know they are producing ions because they have an electrical potential across the carbon fiber brushes. My voltmeter read 8.5v on DC, and 16 on AC. Of the four brushes, two are anodes and two are cathodes. You can short out the device with a conductor across one anode and one cathode. Each one can provide coverage for 300 ft^2. Keep that in mind. They have a soft green light the pulses slowly. It doesn’t work well as a nightlight. I purchased 6 units and noticed a difference in air quality within 4 hour or so with 1400 ft^2.

Just had our air ducks cleaned. Used these to clean flying air in rooms. Differently made as a difference.
