I have in past used several of Oreck’s previous air filtration models. I found their fans very noisy, but the quality was good. They worked well and were pretty reliable, although very expensive. This unit is somewhat different. Still expensive, but very efficient, very sleek and modern looking, with a quiet and efficient fan. It seems to be doing a good job, but as I have it in an open plan living area (approx. 800 sq ft, 74 sq m) , I leave the fan on the second speed, so haven’t used the automatic feature. Mind you I haven’t yet cooked bacon while burning toast, so the unit has not yet had an opportunity to show me what its auto mode can do. Good product, well made, hope it lasts a long time.
